Society for Acupuncture Research

Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR) began in 1991.It owns 150 registered members including 120 acupuncture practitioners, 30 western medicine doctors who have certificate of acupuncture and 120 other researchers or students related with acupunture. Rosa Schnyer and Rick Harris hold the post of co-presidents of the Society.

The Society mission is to promote, advance and disseminate scientific inquiry into Oriental medicine systems, which include acupuncture, herbal therapy and other modalities. The society values quantitative and qualitative research addressing clinical efficacy, physiological mechanisms, patterns of use and theoretical foundations.

SAR has been holding annual conference since 1991, and has over 150 affiliates.
